I am an audio/video content creator. For years I made DVD Content and burned to content onto blank DVD discs. It has been over 4 years since I last made a DVD project. I have a friend who wanted an interview put onto DVD. It had been so long since I did that, I had to go to YouTube to learn how to do it again. It was there that I was reminded of using Nero to do this. I just moved after retiring so I couldn't find my Nero Program Disc. I had recently rebuilt my computer so I didn't have Nero installed. I went to Nero.com and bought the newest version. It was so easy after that. Thank you, Nero.

Nero Burning ROM, commonly called Nero, is an optical disc authoring program from Nero AG. The software is part of the Nero Multimedia Suite but is also available as a stand-alone product. It is used for burning and copying optical media such as CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray disks. The program also supports the label printing technologies LightScribe and LabelFlash, and can be used to convert audio files into other audio formats.

Nero Burning ROM is only available for Microsoft Windows. A Linux-compatible version was available from 2005 to 2012, but it has since been discontinued.[3] In newer versions, media can be added to compilations via the Nero MediaBrowser. Nero AirBurn, a new feature in Nero 2015, enables users to burn media straight from their mobile devices.[4] The latest version is Nero Burning ROM 2017 released in October 2016 including SecurDisc [ru; de] 4.0 with 256-bit encryption.

Nero Burning ROM works with a number of optical disc image formats, including the raw uncompressed image using the ISO9660 standard and Nero's proprietary NRG file format. Depending on the version, additional image formats may be supported. To use non-natively supported formats such as lossless FLAC, Wavpack, and Shorten, additional program modules must be installed. The modules are also known as plug-ins and codecs and are usually free, although Nero AG sells some proprietary video and audio plug-ins. Standard CD images created by Nero products have the filename extension .NRG, but users can also create and burn normal ISO images.

These are not all CDROM's:

"HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B D: CDRom0

SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616E E: CDRom1

TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U F: CDRom3"

At least one is a DVD, right? So why is Windows and Nero misnaming them as CDROM's? Lazy programming or they dont' want to pay someone to write the proper drivers for a DVD.

Furthermore, are they SCSI, IDE, or USB? The three are not equateable.

More lazy or cheap prgramming staff.

The software locked the device, then said it wasn't available and bombed out:

"10:20:04 #24 CDR -600 File Writer.cpp, Line 302

 Device not available

 F: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U"

USB=1 wire

IDE=64 wires

SCSI=80 wires up to 160 wires

Therefore, you're squeezing everything onto a one wire serial buss with a device that is extremely fast and expects at least a 64-wire parallel buss.

You're writer got ahead of itself:

"10:20:04 #22 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1195

 10:20:04.071 - F: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U : Queue again later"

and that's because it's not a cdr, it's a dvdr.

The reference is to their source code, .ccp, so they can debug it. It's the line number where their code failed.

They tried to multithread a write that is basically non-threadable.

Why you didn't get it before is probably because you've added a new USB device that is taking and locking the buss and timing out your DVDR on the same buss.

Nice problems with USB, eh?

I wasn't aware that IDE used more than 40 wires. Could you explain that in more detail? (just trying to learn here)

Also, threading I thought was OS dependent. Whether the bus is Serial or Parallel shouldn't matter to the software, only to the device driver right? ~cdogg

1) Yes I am using less than 4.35GB,

2) I am on USB 2 and a slower speed makes no difference,

3) I have tried 4 different typres of DVD,

4) Uninstalled Nero 7, rebooted, reinstall Nero but still same problem,

Questions I would ask if the above doesn't help:

- Did it ever work before on this DVD-writer? Yes when connected to my laptop! with a built in CDR/DVD,

- What type of data are you trying to burn? Just data from my PC like applications and MP3's, MPG's.

- What is the source of the data you are burning? It appears that you are going from DVD to DVD ("on-the-fly"). If that's the case, is the source DVD not copyright protected? No it is not copyright!

RE: Nero 7 DVD error - could not perform end of disc at once cdogg (TechnicalUser)17 Jan 06 10:00OK, at this point I would try to mess with your "burn" options. Instead of using "Disc at Once" for example, disable that option. It's not really needed for a data DVD anyway. This will cause Nero to use "Track at once", which might get around your issue.

Other options you can change around that might help:

- try a lower burning speed (4x, 2x, etc)

- set the data format to ISO (Joliet), or try PDF

- turn off "DVD High Compatibility"

- like mentioned before, try burning only a small amount of data (less than 1GB) ~cdogg

It works great, and does all the usual formats.

It also writes to a log file as it is working. It worked flawlessly to burn two ISO CD's in my laptop. -David

Is the drive in question installed in the desktop, or an external drive case? RE: Nero 7 DVD error - could not perform end of disc at once 1Bullet (TechnicalUser)23 Feb 06 12:18I had same problem with nero 7. you will need to load the nero XP service pack 2 patch that was with nero 6. the patch is unistalled after uninstalling nero.

@cliffsloane it occurred to me that i was looking specifically for nero.exe just because that was what the terminal said was missing when i tried to run wine nero. can you check when you run discspeed to see if perhaps the exe has some other name? and, if possible, it lives in system32 or syswow64? my guess is 32, but just to be sure

Customizing a disc's menu can give your project a professional look while also making it easier for the viewer to navigate through the content.

For example, if you're making a DVD of a movie or a TV show, you might want to include a menu with chapter selections so the viewer can quickly jump to a specific part of the video. You could also include a menu with extra content or behind-the-scenes footage.

In a business setting, you might create a disc with a training video or presentation on it, as well as a menu with chapters or sections, so the viewer can easily access specific parts of the material.

Overall, personalizing a disc's menu can improve the user experience by making it easier for the viewer to access and navigate the content. It's a common use case for anyone who requires a customized disc. Let's use Nero Video for this. We'll walk you through the process step by step. 0852c4b9a8
