This Privacy Policy explains what data the "Nerd Logs for Salesforce – Apex Debug Viewer" Chrome extension ("the Extension", "we", "our") accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored. It applies to the Extension available on the Chrome Web Store and any browser based on Chromium that supports it (e.g. Microsoft Edge).
By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The Extension is a developer tool that helps you view and debug Salesforce Apex logs directly inside your browser, on Salesforce tabs you already have open and are already logged into. It does not operate its own server or backend. All data the Extension reads comes from your own Salesforce org, retrieved using your own existing Salesforce session, and all data it produces stays on your own device.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party. We do not run analytics, tracking, or advertising code of any kind.

The Extension does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, other websites you visit, personal files, camera/microphone, location, or any data outside of the Salesforce domains you explicitly use it on.
All network requests made by the Extension go only to the Salesforce org whose tab you are on (its *.salesforce.com, *.force.com, *.visualforce.com, or derived *.my.salesforce.com API host). The Extension has no backend server of its own, and your data is never transmitted to us, to the Extension developer, or to any third party.
While actively "watching" a Salesforce tab, the Extension temporarily stores the following in chrome.storage.local (a storage area private to the Extension on your device, not accessible to websites or other extensions):
Your Salesforce session identifier, so that watching can resume automatically if the browser's background service worker restarts or the page is refreshed.
A rolling window of your most recent captured log entries (currently capped at the last 200), with the raw log body truncated for storage efficiency.
Your panel's UI preferences (position, collapsed state).
This locally stored session identifier and log data are automatically deleted as soon as you click Disable Logs, or when the Salesforce tab is closed. Nothing is retained by the Extension once you stop watching.
If your organization's security policy prohibits any local, temporary storage of session identifiers, please treat this Extension as a developer/sandbox tool only, and avoid using it on production orgs handling sensitive data.
cookies — required to read the Salesforce session cookie so the Extension can call Salesforce's own APIs as you, without asking you to log in separately.
storage — required to save your panel state and captured log entries locally, and to let a watch session resume after a page refresh.
alarms — required to periodically check whether log-watching should resume if the browser's background process was restarted.
Host permissions on Salesforce domains (salesforce.com, force.com, visualforce.com) — required so the Extension can detect your org, inject its panel, and call the Salesforce API only on Salesforce pages. The Extension cannot run or access data on any other website.
We do not collect, log, or transmit:
Analytics or usage statistics
Advertising identifiers
Personal contact information
Payment information
Any data from non-Salesforce websites
The Extension does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external service it communicates with is Salesforce's own API, on your own org, using your own session — Salesforce's handling of that data is governed by your organization's own Salesforce agreement and Salesforce's own privacy policy.
The Extension is a developer/administrator tool intended for professional use with Salesforce and is not directed at, nor knowingly used by, children under 13.
Because the Extension handles a live session identifier, it is designed to minimize exposure: the identifier is used only for direct calls to your own Salesforce org's API, is never sent anywhere else, and is deleted from local storage as soon as you stop a watch session. Data at rest is confined to Chrome's per-extension storage sandbox.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension's functionality. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
