Gigi McAllister (Head nErD) is currently a K-5 School Librarian in Gorham, Maine. During her career she has also served as a literacy coach, taught special education, RTI, and as a 4th and 5th grade classroom teacher. Gigi is a contributing writer for Choice Literacy, a proud NBCT and (sometimes) blogs about books and reading at The Late Bloomer's Book Blog. Natalee Stotz is the Instructional Designer and Assessment Coordinator at Central Maine Community College, where she is also an adjunct faculty member. In her 30-year career as an educator, she has taught 3rd grade through graduate students. She has most recently been involved in program and curriculum development for charter schools and private schools. She earned a Master's in Education in Foundations of Education and Problem-Based Learning and Critical Skills from Antioch University New England. Natalee always seeks opportunities to share her passions for experiential learning, the outdoors, and literacy. In her free time, she enjoys reading, wandering in the woods, or exploring Maine waterways in her kayak. She is a Registered Maine Guide and loves to share the beauty of Maine with locals and visitors.
Chris Pirkl is a Distinguished Educator with the Maine Department of Education, where he works as a Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) Ambassador. In this role, he develops and leads professional development sessions for educators on educational technology. Chris earned his Master of Education in Applied Literacy from the University of Southern Maine. Chris began teaching ELA in 2008 and has taught 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Anna Sedenka is a 5th grade teacher at Great Falls Elementary in Gorham, Maine. She is a certified K-8 teacher with her Masters of Education in Applied Literacy. She is also a certified Literacy Specialist who also just earned her Certificate of Advanced Study in Literacy from the University of Southern Maine. She is a self proclaimed book nerd and spends her school year turning her students into self proclaimed book nerds! She loves reading middle grade stories and spending time with her two daughters. Jenn Chafin is a certified K-8 teacher, K-6 Literacy Coach, and K-12 Literacy Specialist with 30 years of experience in the field of education. In addition to her work in elementary classrooms in western Maine, she is an adjunct faculty member for the University of Southern Maine. Jenn facilitates workshops on a variety of literacy topics at the local, regional, and national level. Currently, she holds National Board certification in the area of literacy. Jenn is passionate about putting high-quality texts in the hands of young readers, creating learning environments for optimal student achievement, and developing strong family-school-community relationships. Jenny Stahl, a 4th grade teacher, is starting her fourth year with Glenburn Elementary School. She has been teaching fourth grade for seven years. Jenny loves reading as a hobby, and finds passion in helping young people kindle a love of reading as well. Outside of her teaching duties, Jenny is a mentor teacher, student council co-advisor, and serves on her school's policy committee. Jason Lewis is a 5th-grade teacher in northern Massachusetts. Joining Twitter many years ago helped Jason meet educators from all over the world.
