Nepal Baptist Seminary is an educational ministry of the Nepal Baptist Church Council (NBCC), established in A.D. 1998. When the Baptist churches were growing rapidly, there was a need to train the leaders of the local churches for effective ministry. The great challenges faced by our former leaders led to the conception of a vision to establish an educational center that would meet the urgent needs of the churches. As a result, the Nepal Baptist Bible Institute (NBBI) was launched on June 1, 1998, at Damak Baptist Church, Damak, Nepal, starting with short-term leadership training under the leadership of Rev. Daniel Subba and Muktinath Khatiwada. As the vision expanded, a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree was also offered, and the first BTh class started on June 5, 2006. The executive committee of NBCC unanimously agreed to change the name from NBBI to Nepal Baptist Bible College (NBBC) and then to Nepal Baptist Seminary (NBS) in 2023.
Now, NBS is one of the recognized institutions known for academic excellence and its commitment to mission-oriented theological education in Nepal. It offers a Master of Theology (MTh) in consortium with Asia Graduate School of Theology, Nepal (AGSTNP), Master of Divinity (MDiv), Bachelor of Theology (BTh), and Bachelor in Ministry in Nepali (BMin). NBS is an accredited member of the Asia Theological Association (ATA), known for its commitment to academic excellence.
