Registration will be on the first floor of the Columbia University Irving Cancer Research Center 1130 St Nicholas Ave. New York, NY 10032 in Columbia University Medical Center in the neighborhood of Washington Heights.
To get there using public transport you can take the A (express)/C (local) or 1 subway trains to 168th st station.
From Grand Central terminal
-Follow the signs to the subway. From Grand Central – 42nd St Station, take the 7 train (34th st- Hudson Yards direction) until Times Sq -42nd st station. Alternatively take the S shuttle (Times Sq-42 St direction) which does the same route.
Using the 7 train or S shuttle:
-Follow the signs to transfer to the A express train (Uptown/Inwood-207 St direction). C train covers the same route but runs local so prefer the A train over the C train. If there are problems with the A/C line, use the 1 line instead. In that case take the 1 train (Uptown/Van Cortlandt Park-242 St direction)
-When getting to 168th st station, exit via Saint Nicholas Ave & 168th St at SE corner and
walk (2 minutes) to the Columbia University Irving Cancer Research Center.
From Penn station
-Follow the signs to the subway. From 34 St - Penn Station, take the A (Uptown/Inwood-207 St direction). C train covers the same route but runs local so prefer the A train over the C train. If there are problems with the A/C line, use the 1 line instead. In that case take the 1 train (Uptown/Van Cortlandt Park-242 St direction).
-When getting to 168th st station, exit via Saint Nicholas Ave & 168th St at SE corner and
walk (2 minutes) to the Columbia University Irving Cancer Research Center.
*IMPORTANT. People using Metro North Rail road can exit in Harlem-125th Street station (one station before grand central) which is closer to Columbia Medical Center. From that station you can take Uber/taxi (15 min, this is the shortest option) or Public transport. Public transport option involves either bus or bus+subway. Outside Harlem-125th Street station you can take the M101 bus which gets very close to Columbia medical center (Amsterdam Av/W 167 St) then you can have a short walk of around 3 minutes to get to the Irving Cancer Research Center (this is the longest option, we don’t recommend it, > 40 min). Alternatively, outside Harlem-125th Street station take the M60-SBS, M125 or M101 buses (in West direction) until 125th subway station and take the A/C line in the uptown direction until 168th st station. Using this option of public transport (bus + subway) from Harlem-125th Street station instead of Grand central may save you around 10 min of commute time, but buses times are not very reliable, they modify the routes often and the bus stop area is not very crowded in the morning. We recommend going to Grand Central if possible when using Metro North Rail + NYC public transport.
