Overview
For sustainable future, we focus on development of advanced nanomaterials employed in energy conversion devices such as water electrolyzier, carbon dioxide electrolyzer, ammonia electrolyzer, and fuel cells.
Electrochemical energy conversion for sustainable future
Owing to the problems of local variation and intermittence, the electricity generated from renewable energy needs to be stored in chemical compounds through the electrochemical energy conversion.
Electrochemical reactions in H, C, and N cycles
There are several electrochemical reactions in the three cycles depending on elements and these reactions require precious metal-based electrocatalysts. We are working on fabrication of advanced and functional nanomaterials to increase the catalytic activity as well as to decrease the catalyst cost.
Advanced electrochemical energy conversion system
To increase efficiency of system, we are developing the strategies to maximize catalytic activity, minimize ohmic & contact resistance, and enhance the mass-transfer in advanced electrochemical energy conversion system.
