VIDEO: EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED & HOMELESS
I shot a speech by Curtis Sliwa at one of the fund raising events on a rooftop in Manhattan. The speech was about 20 minutes long and very heartfelt. From this video, I focused on one of Mr. Sliwa's main issues that he was fighting for during his campaign; to help the emotionally disturbed and homeless in our city. I edited this section of his speech down to 1 minute and 24 seconds (Twitter allows for up to 2min 20sec). The video was so well liked by the campaign that I was asked to edit it down to 30 seconds so they can promote it on social media and on other channels. Below, I have included both cuts of the speech so you can see my work and how I was able to take a 1:24 minute commercial and edit it down to 30 seconds.

VIDEO: EARLY VOTING BEGINS
One of the first videos that I created for the Sliwa campaign was to promote early voting. I was asked to make a video that promotes early voting so the campaign can promote it on social media and help boost voter turn out. I use Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to create the slides for the video and then used iMovie to edit the video together. When choosing the style of music, I thought about Curtis Sliwa's history as the founder of the Guardian Angels and how he started the organization in the 1970's. I searched for music that gave me the feeling of a man from the 70's so this is the music that I found and I think it fits his branding well when you understand the man behind the campaign. I also took the initiative to create a version in Spanish to help promote early voting to the large Hispanic population in New York City. Since I am bi-lingual, I was able to translate the verbiage easily.
