Kimmy Lin is an accomplished solo pianist, collaborator, and educator. She has taught at the college, high school, and elementary school levels, focusing on professional pianist training in Taiwan. She possesses experience in instructing non-major students to approach the piano as professional musicians in the United States. She obtained her master's degree in piano performance from Boston University and served as a teaching assistant there.
She is in the third year of pursuing her doctoral degree at West Virginia University with a full scholarship and as a graduate assistant in coaching opera singers. Throughout this period, she was honored with the Valerie Canady Award and was also a winner of the WVU Young Artist Competition.
Born in Taiwan, Kimmy Lin completed her undergraduate degree in piano performance at Soochow University. As an educator, she founded two private art schools in Taiwan, nurturing numerous young musicians and artists. She also organized numerous recitals and exhibitions to promote young artists. In her role as a solo pianist, she has organized numerous concerts, including solo recitals and ensemble performances. She has participated in various collaborative concerts at venues like Taichung National Theater and the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Music Hall.

Catherine Baker is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music Education. She earned her Master's in Educational Leadership from University of Texas at Arlington. In 2021, Catherine was awarded the WV String Teachers Association Outstanding Studio Teacher award. Catherine teaches group classes in Morgantown and Wheeling and has taught grades 3-12 in the public schools. She currently teaches at Moundsville Middle School and directs the Wheeling Youth Symphony Sinfonietta.

Ruthanne Cain is a Masters level, Music Therapy graduate from the University of Miami. She was formerly a Board-Certified Music Therapist, providing private and group sessions for patients on hospice care in Miami, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her full-time duties included rounding of company affiliated hospitals and assisted living facilities and performing in home visits as a music therapist, typically performing on guitar with vocal leading. Ruthanne additionally holds undergraduate degrees in Vocal Performance and Biology from Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia. Following her undergraduate studies, Ruthanne also released a studio album in Nashville, TN, using songwriting and composition skills to promote her self-titled debut.

Lucien is a musician, songwriter, and private music instructor who resides in Morgantown, WV, that owns and operates LPS Guitar, which is a teaching, rehearsal, and luthier studio located in Morgantown, WV. At LPS Guitar, Lucien instructs students in a variety of genres of voice, guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, piano composition, and music theory. Every month, Lucien has his students perform at a variety of venues in Morgantown and surrounding areas. Lucien is the lead guitarist and back up singer for the Cassidy Paige Band. He is continually performing solo vocal/guitar and Classical guitar shows throughout the United States. He also books live music for Flour & Feed, Mountain Mama’s, and Buffalo Wild Wings in Morgantown, WV.

Elliot Jackson is a sophomore at University High School. He has played the piano since he was 4 years old and the violin since he was 9 years old. He is currently working to complete the Royal Conservatory of Music level 9 practical exam and the level 12 piano theory test. He has played piano accompaniment in orchestras and performed in many piano recitals in his 11 years of playing. Additionally, he is a four-time member of the WV All-State Orchestra. In addition to music, he also enjoys running cross country and high jumping. He has participated in Math Field Day and loves spending time with friends and family.

Ryder Merritt is an accomplished musician. From a very young age, he pursued his musical interests in Los Angeles, California, where he studied Japanese Taiko drumming for two years. Ryder started playing the upright bass in middle school. After his family relocated to Morgantown, Ryder joined the District Advanced Orchestra. In 2023, he was selected as All State 2nd Chair Bassist. Then went on to be selected for 1st Chair Bassist for University High School’s orchestra his Freshman year.
Currently, Ryder is a percussionist in the award winning UHS Marching Band, and also plays bass and drums for the UHS Jazz Ensemble. He was placed in the AP Music Theory class a year ahead of requirements. In addition to his traditional training, Ryder has performed on the drums and guitar in a local rock band with the Pop Shop. He is also the guitarist of Jombo Jazz, which recently had a summer residency at the Morgantown Art Bar.
Ryder’s music taste is eclectic. A lover of the intricacies of jazz, he is also an avid fan of rock and roll.
