2. Information Handled & Data Storage

Neighbour Noise does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or sensitive data with external servers, cloud providers, or third parties.

•Audio Recordings & Decibel Logs: Audio clips recorded during noise monitoring and decibel measurements are stored locally in the App’s private SQLite database and internal storage on your device.

•User & Complaint Details: Any personal information you enter (such as your Name, Address, and Local Council Email) is saved locally in your device's SharedPreferences solely to pre-fill your complaint cover letters and email exports.

•No Third-Party Analytics: The App does not use third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising frameworks.

3. Device Permissions Used

The App requests specific Android device permissions necessary for core functionality:

•Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively to measure ambient decibel pressure levels and automatically record short 30-second audio evidence clips when noise exceeds your chosen threshold. Microphone data is processed locally and never uploaded to any remote server.

•Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE): Used to maintain active noise monitoring in the background when initiated by the user or scheduled quiet hours.

•Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to display real-time background monitoring status and active audio recording alerts.

•Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Used to execute user-configured night monitoring start and stop schedules automatically.

4. Data Control & Deletion

You retain complete ownership and control over all data stored within the App:

•Export & Sharing: You can export PDF evidence dossiers and compressed audio packages directly to your local device (Downloads) or send them using your preferred email application.

•Data Erasure: You can permanently delete individual recordings or wipe all stored evidence, locations, categories, and settings at any time using the "Clear All / Delete Everything" option in the App.

5. Third-Party Disclaimers & AI Assets

Some visual assets and graphical elements within the App may have been generated or enhanced using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and are fully licensed for use within the App.

6. Children's Privacy

Neighbour Noise does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13.
