Contract Negotiations Hub

On June 12, 2025, the ITA PAUSED contract negotiations with the Ithaca City School District after six months of negotiating. 

Currently, our teachers are working under an expired contract,  but we're prepared to continue to fight for the schools our staff and students deserve this fall.

While we have made great strides in improving teacher working conditions, securing academic freedom in instruction, enhancing school safety, supporting inclusive practices, and supporting new parents, we did not reach mutual agreement on Three Key topics. 

The Ithaca Teachers Association is currently engaging in open bargaining sessions with the Ithaca City School District. 

This means that we are engaging in full-transparency by making live bargaining sessions open for public observation via Zoom streams and by posting sessions for review on You Tube.

By doing this, we are fundamentally transforming the way we bargain, and pulling back the curtain on how collective bargaining can be done!
