Journal of Biogeography 47(12): 2741-2754. [Using multigene molecular phylogeny using mitochondrial and nuclear genes we show that the current phylogenetic and biogeographical patterns in endemic hill stream loach Bhavania has been shaped by a combination of historic physiographical factors including orogeny events such as river-capture and associated hydrological rearrangements influencing palaeodrainages and palaeoclimatic conditions.
