An Overview
The primary objective of our needs assessment is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the applications that are currently being used and not used by educators and staff at T.W. Keller Elementary and Jackson Elementary. Our assessment will help streamline the available applications and allow the district to evaluate underutilized tools which could potentially lead to cost savings. Our goal is to improve the educational environment, allocate resources more effectively, and align technology with the specific needs of our educators and students.
Description of the Target Audience
The target audience for this needs assessment are elementary school teachers EC-6 and staff from two elementary schools: T.W. Keller Elementary (Brownsville) and Jackson Elementary ( McAllen).
T.W. Keller Elementary is an elementary in Brownsville, Texas. It is the learning place of five-hundred and thirty-nine students from pre-k3 to fifth grade. It has a 98.9% minority enrollment according to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
A. Jackson Elementary is an elementary in McAllen, Texas. It is a campus with a population of five-hundred-sixty-two students from PK to fifth grade. It has almost 40% of the bilingual student population according to the campus reports.
Elementary staff includes paraprofessionals, aides, administration, and support staff such as librarians and literacy coaches. The audience for this assessment was determined by analyzing how many individuals are involved in integrating applications and programs on a daily basis.
Purpose of the Needs Assessment
The purpose of this particular needs assessment is to assess the usage and effectiveness of current applications being used or not being used throughout Keller Elementary and Jackson Elementary. In each of the districts, there is an abundance of applications, considering that not every teacher or staff member utilizes all of the applications. By conducting this survey the hopes are to narrow down the applications offered and possibly save money for the district if certain applications are not being used.
Needs Assessment Survey Web Address
The audience will receive the technology needs assessment survey found in the button below. The participants will receive the survey by email sent by each campus representative from this group. Their responses will help us analyze the resources provided and take the necessary measures to continue to support them and the students. Once teachers and staff complete the survey the information will be received and stored to later be analyzed to create a report of the information gathered.
