Confessions of a Content Creation Chameleon: Need4Productions
Let's be honest, "About" pages can be a snoozefest. I debated on using "Us" or "Me" in the title, and ended up on us, since there are other friends and family that assist me with my work.
Instead of the usual "born and raised" spiel, here's the slightly embarrassing, utterly hilarious truth about Need4Productions:
My Name is Indecision, and Content Creation is My Game:
Back in the day, I was a hardcore Minecraft player with the gamertag "Need4Dirt." (Yes, I know, very creative.) Anyway, that "Need" for something kind of stuck. Need a drink? Need sleep? Need to stop reading this? Need to escape the existential void by making YouTube videos? You get the picture. I eventually created the gamertag Need4Joe later on in life. So, "need"less to say, "Need" sorta stuck on me like flies on a trampoline and I use it for most of my names now.
From Gaming Guru to Garage Guru:
Yeah, I wasn't always Mr. Fancy Videographer. My YouTube journey started as a battle against indecisiveness. I wanted to play video games, record sports, record me flinging golf balls from a waterballoon launcher, fix my car (because let's face it, those "shift nob" repairs aren't happening on a gaming channel!), and well, everything in between. Thus, Need4Productions, the glorious parent channel, was born! Need4Gaming came first for all my various gaming videos I recorded, and then once a live streaming spot became available for streaming football games, Need4Sports was created. Other "Need" names (probably) coming soon!
The Accidental Sports Broadcaster:
Who knew watching my daughter cheer at football games would turn into a full-blown videography obsession? In 2023 our town saw a local teacher retire from live streaming the local games, and let's just say, a hero (okay, maybe a hero with a shaky phone camera) emerged. I mean, how hard could it be right? I recorded plenty of video games and board games with my trusty old phone and tripod. It couldn't be any harder than that right?
From Shaky Phone to (Almost) Spielberg:
Perfection? My middle name (not really, but it should be). Every game, every live stream, was a learning experience. Budget? Tight. But hey, that didn't stop me from devouring everything I could about videography. I spent countless hours and sleepless nights trying to learn about all those things that made other broadcasters famous. From creating a cool scoreboard overlay, to fancy halftime sponsor commercials. Now, I'm slowly morphing from a newbie to a (hopefully) watchable videographer.
Need4Productions Today:
These days, I'm dipping my toes in all sorts of videography. Stock images? You bet. Live streaming weddings? Why not! Public speeches? Just point me at the podium! Birthday parties with screaming kids and a pin in my neck from pin the tail on the donkey? Sure why not, I always enjoyed needles and pointy things.
The End (But Not Really):
This is just a taste of the glorious mess that is Need4Productions. Want to know more? Dive into the blog for deeper dives into my life, passions, and (hopefully) not-so-shaky videography journey. Thanks for stopping by!
