Personally, UG2 comes the closest to the ideal drifting mode. The handling makes sense, there's ample tuning to improve your car's behavior, you can take anything drifting, and there's a fair amount of skill involved in attaining huge scores.

So I did some Googling about how to beat this event and none of the advise makes any sense... People seem to say that the best strategy is to just drift with the pack - how in the world do you keep up??? Every time you drift you lose speed, and they are gone. People have said to upgrade your car - I have tried this with 5 FULLY MAXED cars (every upgrade added) and all kinds of different handling settings. I never got more than 45k points! Any time you do a long enough drift to get a massive point total (seemingly required for such a short race) the train left me wayyyy behind. Obviously my car is about 3x faster than theirs, so I catch up, but the race is so short that there is no time to get the needed points!

People have said that this event is easy, and I assume I can't be THAT bad at the game, having got this far, so what the hell am I doing wrong? Is it the car settings? I managed to stay with the pack with the settings just a few notches toward drift, but then I don't get close to enough points. I've tried it with the slider all the way to drift, but then that car either just spins out or bounces around from wall to wall while the train leaves you behind.

Or maybe I am just doing drift completely wrong? I always tap the main brake to initiate the drift. Hand brake inevitably leads to spinout. Is there some other way? I have tried drifting without tapping brake, but that also leads to not getting enough points...

Hey, i got the ea gamepass and installed unbound. My problem is, i dont like the brake-to-drift handling and dont want to go after EVERY corner into a full drift. Any Settings etc where i can deactivate this, so i dont drift anymore and can get around corners more easily ? I drive the sivlia (tried with keyboard and controller)

Drifting in Heat has a bit of a bad name, but the truth is it can be very fun and satisfying. It just takes time, practice and understanding of the drift parts, builds and tuning. I feel as though the developers put a lot more time and effort in to the performance system than most people realise.

Depending on what parts you use, you will get more drift angle. Drift parts giving the most angle. But in my opinion, a full drift * build gives too much angle. As a simple basic rule, showcase is for on road drifting and speedcross is for off-road drifting. But each has its own feel and use depends on your personal style. One way to think about is, showcase = more angle speedcross = more grip (for on road drifting).

The super 5 speed is more often than not the best option but again not always. It really depends on the car and build. I prefer to use manual, so I generally stay in 2nd or 3rd gear when using the 4, 5 and 6 speed. For the 7 or 8 speed I find that I go as high as 4th gear.

Brakes are similar to clutch, a hard strong brake can interfere with drifts and cause you to brake a drift or spin out. A softer brake, sport, pro and sometimes pro+, will help keep drifts smoother by helping you to control or transition a drift without being to harsh and causing the drift to be broken or end up in loss of control.

Generally I use showcase (on road drifting) as I find it gives me the a wider cleaner drift angle. But just like other parts, drift will give you even more drift angle. For off-road drifting I use speedcross (off-road drifting) suspension.

I recommend choosing a drift zone/event, that is close to a garage, gas station or parts shop. That has no or minimal objects and structures to hit or collide with, so as to make testing easier and quicker.

This is where you will notice the difference of a supercharger makes. Feathering the throttle is another great technique for controlling drift angle. Feathering the throttle is using the accelerator (R2) to control your drift by easing the accelerator off and on, or holding the accelerator at half position. Being smooth with the accelerator and holding it in the correct position, will vastly improve and extend drift length.

Some easier techniques to practice are initiating drifts, so that you are starting drifts at the correct drift angle. As well as drift transitions, (changing drift direction and angle) so that they become smoother allowing you to keep your drifting cleaner, while minimising loss of points.

As far as drift mods go for Heat, I highly recommend the Hayeduce Drift Mod. For access to the mod, or if you have any questions, please join the Slidewinders discord server. Here is the Hayeduce Drift Mod in action.

hello, I am a Brazilian player need for speed. and I've got the following problem in my ps4 console. when I drift with cars. he simply turns the other hand, impossible to drift of Continued ... usually turns to the left after pressing the square button ...

When it comes to going sideways, the choice is yours in how you initiate your drift. Choose between brake & throttle stab (on by default), brake only, and gas only to find the right fit. Take some time to go through the menu and experiment with these styles to see what feels best for you.

I do have the Drift pack cars, but maybe because my first attempt was using a 1000+HP RWD in the snow with traction control off I spent my time going round in circles or off into trees. Hence opting for a more normal car, AWD conversion and something in the region of 500-800HP. Not enough power and you struggle to break traction for long enough. Too much and you are prone to spinning out or burnouts. With practice you can advance to more powerful cars or learn to control RWD instead of AWD. I can now get much greater angle on drifts in a RWD, but find it harder to produce that consistently without losing the back end.

Simplest drifts are e-brake. Build up speed down a straight, turn + e-brake to lock the back end, then power through to turn it into a slide. It takes practice to learn how early to start the turn in based on your speed and how to control the throttle. Steer into the drift to keep the car headed where you want it, while feathering the throttle (and some normal brake) to control the angle of the back end. If it is slipping too far round ease off the throttle or apply a little brake. Not enough angle try more throttle and adjust steering.

Some cars have such great balance you can initiate drifts just by turning on a straight road. The Hoonigan Focus is AWD but is incredibly responsive to turns and has plenty of power to break traction at will. You can have that drifting S bends down a straight road at will by timing your turns and throttle.

Traction Control actively fights your ability to drift. It detects wheelspin as a bad thing so reduces power to the wheels until you regain traction. This ends drifts earlier, reduces your speed and limits what scores you can achieve. Learn to drift with traction control disabled and you will be able to get much better scores. You will then control the traction of your car through a mixture of throttle control and angle of the car through the corners.

Lastly for drift zones know that the scoring zone starts at the first set of flags - you can already be drifting through the start gates to be scoring immediately, rather than waiting until you are inside. Also some events are much easier in one direction, while others are perfectly achievable in either direction.

few things i do when trying out a new car or something is try to do donuts around a pole or something. and try going in easy, like try E-brake drifting first, go like 90 to 150 mph and press hand brake, swing it sideways a bit and try to hold that until you can do it right 80% of the time then try linking corners. i hope it helps. add me if you need help in game or someone to drift with

Nearing a drift corner will spawn a series of orange flares along a drift area on either side of the road. A player may enter the corner at any speed, but only points earned during a single drift will count towards a corner's target. Ending a drift any point will end the player's current run towards their score for a drift corner.

Drifting is an effective mechanic that players must utilize to best their opponents, while also steering clear of cops, day or night. Drifting can help Need for Speed players pull off much sharper turns around corners, while still helping them maintain their speed. Below is a quick tutorial to drifting.

Utilizing the handbrake is the first step to drifting in Need for Speed Heat. While accelerating into a turn, press the handbrake button (Square for PS4 and X for Xbox One), and watch as the car will begin to fishtail, effectively beginning the drifting process.

In Need for Speed Heat, the key for getting the most out of drifting will revolve around pumping the accelerator while turning. To accomplish this, Need for Speed Heat players will need to release the R2 button (PS4) or RT (Xbox One), and allow for a brief pause. After the brief pause and in the midst of turning, Need for Speed Heat players should tap the accelerator, and thereby speed into their turns.

Some Need for Speed Heat players will naturally try to control speed in order to prevent losing control of the vehicle. This is counterintuitive, as speed is essential for taking corners dynamically and drifting successfully! Need for Speed Heat players should trust in the left joystick to maintain control of the vehicle while attempting to drift.

For most Need for Speed Heat players, drifting will take more than a few tries before they get the hang of it. But by following the above steps, players will be well on their way to becoming drift masters. Need for Speed Heat should serve as a breath of fresh air for the tenured franchise, as exemplified by Need for Speed Heat's new approach to DLC. While there are other racing games available, Need for Speed Heat is certainly anticipated to be the next king of the genre. 2351a5e196
