Lamia Hitti is born in Ayto in North-Lebanon. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in history from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, a certificate for teaching in secondary education (CAPES), a master’s degree in education, and a diploma in mediation from the Saint Joseph University.
She held the position of middle school principal at Collège Notre-Dame de Nazareth from 1996 to 2013. She is currently a history and geography instructor at International College in Beirut after having held the same position at the Lycée Abdel Kader. She also ensures the vertical coordination of these disciplines in the French program at IC. She is also a mediator and a trainer at the professional center of mediation at Saint Joseph University.
In 2015, she defended at the Saint Joseph University a thesis focused on the education of the history of Lebanese war. In 2017, this thesis was published in the Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace under the title: "Pédagogie de la mémoire au Liban".
In 2017, she collaborated with the Adyan Foundation to establish several educational modules on various topics of the Lebanese history.
She participated in the symposium « Extrémisme religieux, violence et contexte éducatif » held at the Catholic University of Paris in 2019. Her contribution is entitled « Eduquer au vivre-ensemble dans le Liban de l’après-guerre: enjeux et défis ».
She is a member of the national commission for the writing of the history curriculum.
