Mr. Fouad Bakkar is an Inventor, curriculum facilitator, a trainer & innovator in teaching tools. He is a Biology instructor at the National Protestant College. Besides his teaching role he acts as the Head of the Science & Health Club at Amjad High School. Mr. Bakkar’s strong belief in students’ potentials and his passion to teaching and conveying his expertise in career for more than 33 years drove him to manage and coach students’ teams for Science & Math projects in more than 50 local and international fairs as well as training workshops in Egypt, Jordan, India, Turkey, Kuwait, Kurdistan, Geneva, Germany & Colorado-USA. He is a role model for thousands of students he taught and a mentor for hundreds of students while assisting 100 + scientific projects. Mr. Bakkar’s teaching style includes leading and demonstrating from the front by adopting a student-centered approach. He adopts exclusive innovative methods with his students and hence encourages them to problem solving situations empowering them to make their decisions of their own yet with guidance and counseling. Being very enthusiastic with passion, a very well disciplined and organized instructor had its positive impact on students. The time Mr. Bakkar devotes for his students in extracurricular activities tackling the global goals of sustainable development shaped his students and empowered them with the 21st century skills. This explains the hundreds of local and international recognitions he and his students received for projects, patents, activities and being elected as the 2018 Best Teacher in Lebanon by the Arab Network for Popular Education in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and hence qualifies him for the Global Teacher’s Prize by Varkey Foundation.
