She grew up in Nigeria before returning to Lebanon to complete her BA in English Language and Literature. She later earned her Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree with distinction, completing her dissertation under the supervision of her main advisor at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. She went on to pursue her Doctorate in TESOL at the University of Exeter, England.
Prior to joining LAU, Dr. Azzi worked with an international NGO, where she led the reporting, monitoring, and evaluation unit, overseeing programs in South Lebanon and Tripoli.
At LAU, she teaches language, literature, and liberal arts courses, and also organizes TEDxLAU, the first independently organized TED-like university event in Lebanon.
In 2019, Dr. Azzi was selected as a faculty fellow in the Center for Innovative Learning’s inaugural program. In this role, she continues to support faculty in adopting flipped classroom models and designing engaging course content.
