Hala Raad is a Senior Special Educator at the Department of Psychiatry at AUBMC, Beirut – Lebanon, where she provides special education assessments and interventions to children, adolescents and adults with academic and behavioural disorders or difficulties as well as guidance and training to parents, nurseries, schools, NGOs and professionals. She is involved in teaching lectures on educational and behavioral topics, social and inclusive education to medical students and residents.
She is the founder and current Manager of the AUBMC ᎮИIИЯAƎ⅃ Center (LC), an extended outpatient multi-disciplinary setting providing specialized educational and rehabilitation services to individuals with behavioral or learning difficulties and disorders.
Hala Raad participated in the design and implementation of “Safe Start”, a pioneer early intervention mental health program providing clinical, research, teaching and advocacy services to infants and children (0-6years) with developmental or mental health disorders in Lebanon and the Arab region.
She was also a founding member of FOCUS fund; a joint parents and professionals led initiative aiming at fundraising and spreading mental health awareness.
She is a lecturer at the Institut Libanais d’Educateurs of the USJ where is designed and gives a course for postgraduate students on “Evaluation Orthopédagogique”. She is also a member of MEHE’s Committee in Charge of Official Exams Accommodations.
She graduated from the Université Saint-Joseph with a B.A. in Educational Sciences/Special Education.
She completed her master’s degree in Special Educational Needs with distinction at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
