Cultivating Student Leadership Through Collaboration
Presenter: Dr. Suha Safiyiddeen
Target Audience: Primary / Intermediate / Secondary Teachers
Collaborative Learning (CL) is a transformative educational approach that prepares students for realworld social and professional interactions. By working in pairs or larger groups, learners engage in discussions, problem-solving, and knowledgesharing, fostering higher-order thinking, oral communication, active listening, self-management, social interaction, motivation, and leadership skills. This session introduces practical collaborative learning techniques that empower students to engage meaningfully with peers while developing leadership and teamwork skills. Participants will experience CL strategies firsthand and learn how to create classroom activities that foster student-led learning, accountability, and engagement.
