This session presents TAMAM’s research-based model for leading sustainable school-based improvement. Grounded in over 18 years of fieldwork across the Arab region and informed by international literature, TAMAM’s model was the first capacity building program developed by the TAMAM research lab.Centered around a structured process, the TAMAM School-Based Improvement Journey, and a clear set of competencies, this model equips school teams to lead and sustain improvement efforts while preparing schools to become self-renewing communities of learning and innovation.Participants will explore the main components of the journey, the core competencies required to build capacity within schools, and the essential pillars that define self-renewing schools. As the process is explained, the presenter will highlight the challenges school leaders face when introducing innovation and improvement, and explain how TAMAM’s unique journey stations are designed to mitigate these challenges, creating enabling conditions for continuous and sustainable change.
