Getting Started
Q: What is a "neb" rating?
A "neb" is our 0–10 rating scale. Rate shows and movies from 0.0 to 10.0. Ratings of 8.0+ show a 🔥 emoji, and ratings of 4.0 or below show a 🤮 emoji.
Q: How do I create an account?
Open the app and tap "Sign Up" on the sign-in screen. Create a username and password to get started.
Q: Do I need an account to use the app?
Yes. An account lets you save reviews, create lists, and access your data across devices.
Rating and Reviews
Q: How do I rate a show or movie?
Search for the show/movie, open its detail page, scroll to the review section, and tap "Add Review". Set your rating (0–10) and add an optional comment.
Q: Can I review individual seasons of a TV show?
Yes. When adding a review, select a specific season or "Entire Show" to review the whole series.
Q: Can I edit or delete my reviews?
Yes. Open the show's detail page, find your review, and tap "Edit" or "Delete".
Q: How do I see reviews from other users?
Reviews appear on each show's detail page and in the "Reviews" tab feed.
Lists
Q: How do I create a list?
Go to the "Lists" tab, tap the "+" button, enter a name, and tap "Create List".
Q: What is the "To Watch" list?
A default list for shows you want to watch. You can't delete it, but you can rename it.
Q: How do I add shows to a list?
On a show's detail page, tap "Add to List", select the list(s), and confirm.
Q: Can I share my lists with others?
Yes. Lists can have contributors who can add or remove shows. Only the owner can delete the list or manage contributors.
Q: How do I delete a list?
In the Lists tab, swipe left on the list and tap "Delete". Only list owners can delete lists.
Q: Can I rename a list?
Yes. Tap the list, then tap "Edit List" to change the name.
Search and Discovery
Q: How do I search for shows and movies?
Use the "Discover" tab. Enter a title in the search bar to find shows and movies.
Q: Where does the show information come from?
Show and movie data comes from The Movie Database (TMDB), including details, cast, and streaming availability.
Q: Can I see where a show is streaming?
Yes. Streaming providers are shown on each show's detail page.
Account Management
Q: How do I sign out?
Go to Settings → Account → Sign Out. You'll need to sign back in to access your account.
Q: Can I change my username?
Username changes aren't currently supported. Contact us if you need to change it.
Q: How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile, all reviews, and all lists you own. This cannot be undone.
Q: What happens when I delete my account?
Your profile, all your reviews, all lists you own, and your authentication are permanently deleted. You'll also be removed as a contributor from any shared lists.
Q: Will my data be saved if I uninstall the app?
Yes. Your data is stored in the cloud. Reinstall and sign in to restore it.
Appearance and Settings
Q: Can I change the app's appearance?
Yes. Go to Settings → Appearance to choose System, Light, or Dark mode.
Q: Where can I view the Privacy Policy and Terms?
Go to Settings → Legal to view the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
Troubleshooting
The app won't load or is slow
Check your internet connection. The app requires an active connection to load show data and reviews.
I can't find a specific show or movie
Try different search terms or check spelling. If it's not in TMDB, it won't appear in search results.
My reviews aren't showing up
Ensure you're signed in and have an active connection. Try refreshing the show's detail page.
I'm having trouble signing in
Verify your email and password. If issues persist, use "Forgot Password" or contact support.
The app crashes or freezes
Force quit and reopen the app. If it continues, restart your device. If problems persist, contact support with details.
Privacy and Data
Q: Is my data private?
Yes. Reviews are public, but your account information is private. See our Privacy Policy in Settings → Legal.
Q: Can other users see my email address?
No. Only your username is visible to other users.
Q: How is my data stored?
Data is stored securely using Firebase. Your password is encrypted and never stored in plain text.
Feature Requests and Feedback
Q: Can I suggest a new feature?
Yes. Use the in-app contact form (Settings → Support → Contact Us) or email nebratings@gmail.com.
Q: How do I report a bug?
Use the in-app contact form or email nebratings@gmail.com. Include steps to reproduce and your device/iOS version.

Data Usage
The app uses data to:
Load show and movie information
Sync your reviews and lists
Display community reviews
Using Wi‑Fi when possible is recommended to reduce cellular data usage.
Updates
We will update the app with bug fixes and new features when necessary. Enable automatic updates in the App Store to stay current.
Content Restriction
Users should be aware that most movies and TV shows are findable via our database. They may infrequently contain content (pictures or text) not suitable for a younger audience.
