Celebrating 35 Years of the Berkowitz Group

The ACS Nebraska Local Section proudly celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Berkowitz Research Group at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The event brought together alumni, current researchers, students, and colleagues to recognize the group's longstanding contributions to chemical research, education, and mentorship. Attendees enjoyed presentations from distinguished alumni, research updates, reflections from Prof. David Berkowitz, and opportunities to reconnect and celebrate the impact of the Berkowitz Group over the past three and a half decades.

Exploring Careers in Industry, Academia & Beyond. 

The Nebraska ACS Section hosted an engaging career panel featuring Dr. Deepa Choudhry (Technology Commercialization Fellow, Nutech Ventures), Dr. Baba Yussif (Senior Scientist, Zoetis), and Vishakha Jayasekera (Postdoctoral Research Associate, Food Innovation Center, UNL). The panelists shared their experiences and insights on career paths in industry, academia, technology commercialization, and beyond. 

The event included thoughtful discussions and questions from students, providing valuable perspectives on career opportunities after graduate school. Thank you to all the panelists, organizers, and students who made the event a success!
