Equipping pediatric physicians and trainees with the skills to advocate for their patients, themselves, and their communities and to serve as a resource to Nebraska policymakers on child health issues
Nebraska Advocates for Child Health (NEACH) is a collaboration between the Nebraska Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Nebraska Regional Council of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
We achieve our mission by:
Hosting educational sessions throughout the year for new and experienced physicians
Staying current on the issues that impact the physical and mental health of Nebraska's children
Encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing between physicians and Nebraska policymakers
Providing opportunities for policymakers to interact with pediatric providers
Organizing a yearly Capitol Hill Day at the Nebraska legislature
Annual Events
Informal coffee and discussions between providers and policymakers
Physician trainee teaching sessions
Legislative meet and greet
Advocacy training sessions and regular ongoing learning opportunities for physicians
Panel discussions with current legislators and other advocacy experts
Mid-session visit to the Nebraska State Capitol
