Facilitation Guidelines

Effective facilitation is key to creating a meaningful and engaging program experience. This section provides clear and practical guidelines to help facilitators manage sessions confidently, encourage participation, and maintain a productive learning environment throughout the program.

These guidelines are aligned with the strategic directions and Centers of Participation outlined in the PYDP 2023–2028.

1. Youth-Centered Planning and Implementation

·      Governance, Active Citizenship

Ensure that youth are involved in every stage of the program—planning, execution, and evaluation. This promotes youth participation, leadership, and ownership, which are core components of the PYDP.

2. Promotion of Lifelong Learning and Skill Building

·      Education, Economic Empowerment

Design activities that enhance youth skills, knowledge, and employability. Encourage trainings, workshops, and mentoring programs that prepare them for livelihood and career opportunities.

3. Safe and Inclusive Spaces for Participation

·      Social Inclusion and Equity, Health

Create an environment where all youth—regardless of background, gender, or ability—feel welcomed, safe, and empowered to contribute. This addresses the PYDP’s call for inclusive, rights-based youth development.

4. Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilization

·      Governance, Technology and Innovation

Build partnerships with LGUs, schools, NGOs, private sectors, and youth organizations to pool resources and ensure program sustainability. Incorporate innovative solutions to improve reach and impact.

5. Regular Monitoring and Feedback Mechanisms

·      Peacebuilding and Security, Governance

Establish systems to track progress and gather feedback from youth and stakeholders. This ensures that programs remain responsive to current youth concerns and are continuously improved.

6. Promotion of Health and Well-Being

·      Health, Peacebuilding and Security

Include activities that support physical, mental, and emotional health. Encourage healthy lifestyles and open discussions about youth well-being.

7. Encouraging Civic Engagement and Volunteerism

·      Active Citizenship, Global Mobility

Promote participation in civic activities and community service. Inspire youth to become proactive citizens both locally and globally.
