Neurodiversity at EvCC

Mission

At EvCC, as with any institution, neurodiversity is simply a reality that permeates all departments, students, and faculty alike. EvCC has demonstrated an interest in addressing this reality with its overarching strategic plan of belonging, career-connectedness, sustainability, and student-readiness. All of which are guided by the principles of diversity and equity. According to strategic plan’s mission statement, “We educate, equip, and inspire each student to achieve personal and professional goals, contribute to our diverse communities, and thrive in a global society” (Everett Community College). This project aims to facilitate an institution wide conversation about building a universal framework, that prioritizes ND students, so EvCC can ensure that it lives up to its mission statement of educating, equipping, and inspiring ALL students, especially those who have felt ostracized during their educational experience due to neurodivergence.
