NC STEM Alliance 2020 Research Symposium

The NC STEM Alliance (NCSA) is a National Science Foundation funded initiative (NSF, Grant Number: 1817433) that has a primary goal of increasing the number of underrepresented minority community college students who successfully transfer to four-year institutions to earn degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) disciplines. Central Piedmont Community College, Forsyth Technical Community College and Guilford Technical Community College have joined forces to breathe life into this goal and are excited to present you with this year’s NCSA Research Symposium!

Following the lead of NSF’s Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), the NCSA has constructed a year-long, faculty-guided research experience that positions NCSA Fellows to gain greater familiarity with current innovations in the STEM world. Due to the impact of current quarantine and social distancing practices, we were unable to host an in-person event as we have done in previous years. However, we are very excited to showcase our Fellows’ research efforts virtually. Please take a moment to view our Fellows’ posters and brief video overviews of their work, on this site. And, schedule permitting, please also join us for a live streaming of three student presentations on Friday, April 17th at 10:00 am.
