Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology started in the year 2008, under the aegis of Sabari Foundation. This institute has been instrumental in establishing a distinct role in the field of quality driven engineering education. This has been possible due to the presence of leading academicians along with technology professionals of international and national repute, inducted within its governing body. The presence of senior, experienced and qualified faculty members, under the direction of the governing council have paved the way for establishing RIT as a distinct identity of Technological Institute of Eminence. This institute is located in a serene atmosphere on Chennai – Bangalore National Highway located 19 kilometers from Chennai and provides the right ambience for budding engineers. The college offers five B.E/B.Tech degree programmes in CSE/ECE/EEE/MECH &IT. Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai & certified by ISO 9001:2008.

About the Department

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established during the inception of the institute in 2008. Since its commencement, the primary vision of the department has been to initiate high quality technical education and to nurture young minds towards creative thinking that inspires them to undertake innovations in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and be competent in the global market and to emphasize on the student body to carry out research for the service of our Nation and to the Society at large with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems. In addition to the well equipped curriculum related laboratories the major areas of faculty expertise of the department include Biomedical Signal Processing, Communication Systems, Computer Networks, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing & Computer Vision, Power Electronics, Power Systems, Radar Signal Processing, RF and Microwaves, Speech Signal Processing, VLSI Systems and MEMS. There are six major research groups in the department: Signal & Speech Processing, Image & Video Processing, Embedded Systems & Robotics, Antenna, RF & Microwave circuit design, VLSI Design & Nanotechnology and Wireless Communication & Networking.
