The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established during the inception of the institute in 2008. Since its commencement, the primary vision of the department has been to initiate high quality technical education and to nurture young minds towards creative thinking that inspires them to undertake innovations in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and be competent in the global market and to emphasize on the student body to carry out research for the service of our Nation and to the Society at large with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems. In addition to the well equipped curriculum related laboratories the major areas of faculty expertise of the department include Biomedical Signal Processing, Communication Systems, Computer Networks, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing & Computer Vision, Power Electronics, Power Systems, Radar Signal Processing, RF and Microwaves, Speech Signal Processing, VLSI Systems and MEMS. There are six major research groups in the department: Signal & Speech Processing, Image & Video Processing, Embedded Systems & Robotics, Antenna, RF & Microwave circuit design, VLSI Design & Nanotechnology and Wireless Communication & Networking.
