SRM University

SRM University is part of the 36 year-old SRM Group of Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Valliammai Society. The main campus of SRM University at Kattankulathur, near Chennai is spread over 200 acres. The University has many campuses across India such as Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani in Chennai, and others in Trichy-TamilNadu, Amaravathi-Andhra Pradesh, NCR-Delhi, Sonepat-Hariyana and Gangtok-Sikkim. Department of Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical Engineering is an application of all classical engineering principles to solve clinical problems in medical and surgery. Biomedical engineers work with other healthcare professionals as members of a team. Employment opportunities for biomedical engineers exist in industry, government organizations, universities, medical schools and hospitals. In SRM University, Biomedical Engineering Department was established in the year 2004 with active clinical/industry partnership in association with our sister institution, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Kattankulathur. Since then, the department has been actively engaged in diversified research and teaching. Its main objective is to provide a knowledge-based, timely, cost effective and high quality service to clinicians in a professional and responsible manner.It aims to enhance the patient care by supporting all aspects of health care related technology. The department offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D programmes in Biomedical Engineering.
