Frequently Asked Questions for NCO District
We know the cost of registration feels high. Inflation has significantly impacted travel and event costs nationwide, from flights and hotels to food and venue expenses. Prices across the board have increased since NYC23, and unfortunately, that is reflected in the overall cost. Additionally, based on recommendations from our travel agent, adjustments had to be made to our group travel plans. Changes in group flight policies, fewer group rate options, and rising airline fees (especially for checked luggage) have all contributed to higher costs. We’ve worked hard to keep the price as low as possible while still making sure everyone has an unforgettable experience.
We are so excited that the NCO District has so many adults invested in the lives of our teens! Since this is a youth-focused gathering, we’re following UCNYI’s recommended teen-to-adult ratio (8:1) to make sure the focus stays on the students. Right now, we need to see how many teens register before we can confirm the number of spots available for adult sponsors. We will be in close communication with each church, and by early October, we will have a clearer idea of how many adult sponsor registrations we can accept. We encourage adult sponsors to register, but please wait to hear directly from us before paying any adult sponsor deposits. We truly appreciate your patience and your heart to serve!
Church Leaders: When selecting adult sponsors, we will be relying heavily on your recommendations. Our first priority is church staff (such as Youth Leaders and Pastors), followed by youth volunteers with strong experience managing groups of teens. Parent volunteers will be considered only if necessary, and only with the understanding that this role requires group leadership experience, not just a connection to their own teen. We understand that each church situation is unique; please reach out to us to discuss your individual church's needs.
Unfortunately, we aren't able to offer a sibling discount. Since many of the costs (like travel, hotel, meals, and registration fees) are fixed per person, we have to keep the pricing the same for everyone.
Yes, you are welcome to register with another district you are connected with. You’ll need to contact a church on that district to get approval from their Youth Leader. Then, use that district’s unique registration link when signing up. DO NOT use the NCO District registration link. If attending with another district, you must follow all of their NYC guidelines and payment policies. Travel details and costs will be different in each district.
The National Quiz takes place right before NYC. You will travel with the NCO Quizzers group to Salt Lake City and then transition back into the NCO District group in time for NYC events. We'll be in touch with more details as we have them.
To ensure the safety and best experience for everyone, all attendees are required to stay at the hotel with the NCO District for the entire event. This helps us make sure everyone is accounted for and can fully participate in everything we have planned.
Attendees will need to travel with the NCO District to and from Salt Lake City and won’t be able to arrive early or stay behind for family vacations. This helps us make sure everyone is traveling safely and staying accounted for.
To keep everything organized and ensure everyone’s safety, individual churches cannot travel separately from the NCO District. All attendees must travel with the NCO District group to and from the event.
Please reach out to your church's primary NYC contact first. If they are unable to answer your question, reach out to us through email:
