I am currently the 8th grade homeroom teacher at Nettle Creek School. This will be the start of my 24th year teaching here. Since departmentalizing at the junior high level, I have taught 6th-8th grade Mathematics for the past 10 years. I am the Athletic Director here at Nettle Creek School. I also coach Track & Field. I am very excited to see what the 2025-2026 school year brings!
I began my collegiate journey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have fond memories of my time at U of I; however, I knew it wasn't the best fit for me. After my freshmen year, I attended one year at Illinois Valley Community College before finally transferring to Illinois State University where I received a B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics, Social Studies, and Language Arts. I loved every moment during my final 3 years down at ISU, which is why I decided to go back there to complete my Master's Degree in Middle School Mathematics. I finished my Master's Degree Program in the summer of 2018. It was another great learning experience for me!
In my free time, you can find me hanging out with my family and friends. I have 2 older sisters, 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and 5 great-nephews. My family is just like me...energetic, witty, and always up for an adventure! I graduated from Seneca Township High School back in 1996 and have kept in touch with my core group of friends. We always joke about how we haven't lost touch yet! There's something great to be said about growing up in a small town...you meet your lifetime friends...and that's definitely the case with me! We take an annual trip each year...we've been to London, New York, Nashville, Lake Geneva, Washington D.C., Memphis, Traverse City, Phoenix, Austin, San Diego, Park City, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Denver and Key West to name more than a few. 😎
I live in Seneca...and am a huge fan of our IRISH! I'm also a huge fan of the IRISH from the University of Notre Dame. My love for ND began when my father took me to a football game there back in 1995...I've been a die hard fan ever since! I'm also a HUGE CUBS FAN...which paid off in 2016...when they were WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!! My love for the Cubs is thanks to my grandfather...he took me and my friends to a game every summer. What I would give to have those moments back with both my father and my grandfather!
