About Me

I am currently the 2nd Grade Teacher here at Nettle Creek Elementary School. This will be my 17th year here at Nettle Creek. I graduated from the University of St. Francis in Joliet after being a teachers aide for 4 years at Troy Shorewood Elementary. I worked with many autistic children and students with learning disabilities. I also work at AppleButter & Shugies once in a while just for fun!

I am happily married to my husband Nick Doerfler, who is a Lt. Firefighter Paramedic at Coal City Fire Protection District. He wears many hats as a firefighter paramedic, he is the Public Information Officer that keeps the media in the know of what is going on with incidents and weather related calls. Nick has been through both the Diamond and Coal City tornados and since then he was granted with Rikki, a german shepherd that he trains for Search and Rescue. Rikki is an amazing asset to the Fire department and local agencies. She lives with our family and goes to work with Nick every third day.

We have 2 amazing boys, Patrick who is 10 and will be in Fifth Grade at ICS. Patrick likes basketball, taekwondo, cub scouts, playing outside and anything with numbers. Blaise is our youngest who's a sassy 8 year old. He will be a 3rd grader at ICS. He is an ALL out boy, who loves to be outside, riding his bike and playing firefighters or dressing up with his radios and costumes to be "Just like Dad"!

We are always on the go, from the park, to visiting family, to the beach, or just hanging out in the backyard. I can say we are an Adventurous Family. We are a scout family and we are proud to say we belong to Pack 480 in Morris. In May, I was given the role as Cub Master. As a family we volunteer for Heroes and Helpers and the Joliet Chapter of Pink Heals. Both are very important to our family.

We love to go camping, laughing, dancing, and be silly together! Life is short, so Live it Up!
