The Gamma Theta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International was charted on May 29, 1976. 

The chapter is comprised of members from all around Wake County. 

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International was founded in Austin, Texas on May 11, 1929. Eta State (now NC DKG), the seventh state of the society, was chartered on October 27, 1934. The first two chapters of the society in North Carolina were chartered on April 17, 1936. Greensboro was assigned the Greek letter Alpha and Raleigh was assigned Beta. The Beta chapter expanded into an additional chapter, Alpha Omicron. Due to Alpha Omicron’s expansion, the Gamma Theta chapter was chartered on May 29, 1976. Today, Gamma Theta is one of nine chapters in Region III and one of six of those chapters in Wake County. We are a diverse group of women educators with members in all levels of experience. Our members serve the Society at the local, state, and international levels.
