The man lays on his bed, tossing a ball up into the air. However, all is lost after he makes one miscalculated toss.
Clearly seen when he throws the ball and meets his unfortunate end.
The secondary action were his legs moving as he was throwing the ball. They jiggled up and down and adjusted positions.
Although not clearly seen, I used motion paths for the motion of the ball as he throws the ball up and down. The curves for the paths were created by going frame by frame, placing points where the hand is. Then for each frame, placing the ball where I desired and then manually moving the curve points to the center of the ball.
The man lowers his arm to throw the ball up. Also noticeable as the ball is about to explode.
The bed and figure were not from online. I fully modeled, textured, and animated them. The man was one of the most frustrating parts of this project, crashing Maya on more than one occasion. Everything else came from online.
This was not necessarily a built in effect. I used something called MASH to make the explosion possible.
Death: I really wanted to make the man explode as well. However, working with over 3000 polygons on a screen straight up murders my laptop when I try to do anything with them, especially when they all try to move at once.
Hair: He was going to rock those bangs, but my laptop did not agree. (It crashed).
Since I play tennis, I initially planned on having two figures play a match, being as accurate as I can with technique. However, after seeing how much of a hassle making this figure was, there was no way I was gonna try animating two of them.
