The purpose of this optional 3-day CLC is to provide school district central office and charter school administrators who are responsible for the implementation of content standards (NC Standard Course of Study) with a process for discussing how professional development, technical assistance/coaching, communication/visibility and research/evaluation support quality implementation that can be sustained and monitored for fidelity.
The CLC was a huge success in its first year and is coming back again this school year! Here's what the first year participants are saying about it:
Additionally, over 96% of year one participants agreed that the CLC met its goals and will improve student outcomes.
School districts and charter schools should develop a representative team of 3-4 administrators who can commit to attending all 3 days for the cohort and be led by the Chief Academic Officer, the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction or any other administrator who is responsible for implementing new content standards. The team may consist of a Principal, CTE Director, EC Directors, MTSS Coordinator, and/or anyone else responsible for implementing district-wide and/or school-wide initiatives.
Sessions will be held in two locations across the state; one in the East, and one in the West. Every attempt is made to find central locations within each region of the state to make it convenient for as many districts/charter schools as possible. Exact locations for each region will be confirmed once all applications are received and reviewed.
There is no registration fee required to attend. The only cost to the districts/charter schools will be for travel and accommodations (if needed). Each participant will receive a free copy of “Tool Time for Educators.” Additionally, planning templates, session slides, and research articles will be provided. A light breakfast and refreshments will also be provided at each session.
District applications are now closed for the 2018-19SY.
Charter Schools may still complete THIS APPLICATION through the close of business on Friday, February 9th, 2018. The application may take approximately 20 minutes to complete and consists of the following sections:
*Only completed applications (including a signed Partnership Agreement) submitted by the due date will be considered.
First year participants (2016-17 SY) will be invited to participate in year 2 alumni activities at the “Connecting Communities of Education Stakeholders” (CCES) conference in March 2018. More information regarding this event will be sent directly to last year’s participants. While priority for this year’s cohort will be given to districts that did not participate last year, districts that did participate previously may reapply again this year with different team members.
