About Our Unit

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit at Government Pre-University College, Kadugodi, was established in 1994 and operates under the command of the 8 KAR Battalion NCC, B Group, Bengaluru. Since its formation, the unit has played a key role in instilling the values of discipline, leadership, character, and patriotism among students.

As an active and recognized sub-unit, our NCC wing offers structured military-style training through:

• Weekly drills and parades

• Firing practice and weapon handling

• Adventure activities such as trekking, rock climbing, and obstacle training

• Social and community service programs

The training curriculum is designed to build well-rounded cadets, blending physical fitness with civic responsibility and personality development. Our cadets participate in various prestigious camps, including:

• Annual Training Camp (ATC)

• Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)

• All India Trekking Camp (AITC)

• National Integration Camp (NIC)

• Basic Leadership Camp (BLC)

• Pre-RDC & RDC selection

• Firing Practice Sessions

• Disaster Management Training

• Republic Day and Independence Day ceremonial duties

Beyond training, our unit actively engages in Swachh Bharat campaigns, tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, awareness rallies, and other nation-building initiatives.

The unit is guided by a dedicated Associate NCC Officer (ANO) who provides continuous mentorship and leadership. Many of our cadets have proudly gone on to serve in the Indian Armed Forces, police services, and other distinguished fields — upholding the proud NCC Motto: "Unity and Discipline"
