National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of Government Pre-University College, Kadugodi, established in 1994, is one of the most active and disciplined units under the 8 KAR Battalion NCC, ‘B’ Group, Bengaluru. For over three decades, the unit has been dedicated to grooming students into disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented citizens, instilling in them leadership qualities, national pride, and a spirit of selfless service.
The unit functions under the leadership of Lt. Manjunatha N. M., who initially served as the Caretaker of the NCC Unit in 2018. After completing his rigorous Pre-Commission ANO Training (PRCN) at Kamptee, he was officially commissioned and appointed as the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) in 2021. His guidance, commitment, and enthusiasm continue to strengthen and inspire the unit.
With a current strength of 52 cadets, the unit upholds high standards of discipline and excellence in all its activities.
Training & Cadet Development
The NCC training program at GPUC Kadugodi is designed to build physically fit, confident, and socially responsible cadets. Regular activities include:
Weekly parade and drill practice
Complex drill formations
Weapon handling and firing practice
Map reading
Obstacle and endurance training
Adventure sports such as trekking and rock climbing
Theory sessions on military subjects
Social service and civic awareness programs
Cadets also gain valuable exposure by participating in various national and state-level NCC camps, including:
Annual Training Camp (ATC)
Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)
All India Trekking Camp (AITC)
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)
Army Attachment Camp (AAC)
Pre-RDC & RDC Selection Camps
Events, Achievements & Contributions
The Govt. PU College Kadugodi - NCC Unit actively participates in institutional and national events:
Ceremonial duties and special drills during Republic Day and Independence Day
Honouring national heroes during Kargil Vijay Diwas
Representation in the prestigious Republic Day Parade, New Delhi (2019)
Participation in the Chief Minister’s Rally in 2023 and 2025
The unit also contributes significantly to community and nation-building activities:
Swachh Bharat cleanliness drives
Tree plantation programs
Blood donation camps
Road safety & awareness rallies
Environment and social welfare campaigns
Cadets have brought honour to the institution by joining the Indian Armed Forces and other distinguished fields. One of our alumni is proudly serving in Jammu & Kashmir, continuing the legacy of dedication and patriotism.
