Getting to Helsinki: 

Helsinki Airport is well connected to the city centre by public transport.

The I and P trains run directly from the airport to Helsinki Central Railway Station and take approximately 30 minutes. You will need an ABC zone ticket.

Alternatively, Bus 600 runs between the airport and Rautatientori, next to Helsinki Central Railway Station, and takes approximately 50 minutes.

Taxis are available directly outside the arrivals hall. Please note that fares vary between taxi companies.

Arriving by train/ferry:

Visitors can reach Helsinki in several more adventurous ways by ferry and rail: (1) via Tallinn, Estonia, with frequent ferry crossings taking about two hours and operated by Tallink Silja, Viking Line, and Eckerö Line; (2) via Stockholm, Sweden, where overnight ferries connect directly to Helsinki or alternatively to Turku, on Finland's southwest coast. Upon arrival to Turku, a two-hour train connects the harbour to Helsinki central railway station. For travelers arriving from Germany, Finnlines operates regular ferry services between Travemünde and Helsinki, offering a direct sea connection from continental Europe. Starting from Aug 2026, it is also possible to reach Helsinki by rail via the Haparanda (Sweden) – Tornio (Finland) cross-border railway connection or by ferry and train from Umeå (Sweden) to Vaasa (Finland) and continue south through Finland by train to Helsinki.
