Who are we?

The Network of Critical Action Researchers in Education-NCARE- began at OISE (the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning of the University of Toronto. Our non-profit collective community has grown and includes teachers, educators, administrators, graduate students and researchers involved in practitioner inquiry, teacher research, reflective inquiry and other types of action research. Our network is international, with members from Canada, Chile, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Iran, Japan, Ghana, India, China.

Our Mission

Our goal is to promote discussions, share resources and collaborate with educators, teachers and administrators from all over the world who share the belief that action research, sometimes referred to as practitioner research, can contribute to improving the quality of learning experiences and outcomes for students. We invite you to peruse our material, share resources and comment on different components of our website.

We look forward to hearing from you!
