About NCAL

What is NCAL?

NCAL, or the North Carolina Academic League, is an organization dedicated to boosting the state, quality, and size of Quizbowl within NC at the high school level. Currently based in Chapel Hill, NCAL aims to support teams from the Research Triangle and beyond by hosting regularly scheduled tournaments at a more affordable cost. We are especially committed to supporting  rural, Title 1, and underrepresented schools within NC to play quizbowl and qualify for National level tournaments.

NCAL envisions a future where NC contains both thriving local circuits, but also a stronger, unified network across the state.
