This NC Professional Trauma Certification is offered by Area L AHEC in collaboration with Florida State University (FSU), Resources for Resilience (R4R), and CORE (Community Organizing for Racial Equity). This certification has been funded by DHHS Division of Mental Health, making this a free opportunity.
To earn a NC Certificate in Trauma and Resilience you must:
1. Complete the 20-hour online "Professional Certification in Trauma and Resilience Level One" offered by FSU.
2. Attend a 2-day R4R Training OR attend three 1-hour ECHO sessions through Area L AHEC facilitated by R4R faculty.
If you have already completed the 2-day Resources for Resilience Training, you do not need to complete this step.
If in addition you would like to earn the NC Certificate in Trauma and Resilience with an added focus on Racial Trauma you must:
1. Complete the NC Certificate in Trauma and Resilience requirements above AND
2. Complete an 8-hour Racial Equity Fundamentals workshop OR an 18-hour Race and Trauma workshop through Area L AHEC facilitated by CORE.
*All items must be completed by June 2023 to gain the NC Certificate in Trauma and Resilience by July 2023.
If you would prefer to participate in (3) 1-hour ECHO sessions, please register within a cohort. There are a maximum of 40 spots available for each cohort. You must attend each session within the cohort to receive a certificate of completion. If you miss registration for the 1st cohort, you can register for cohort 2 or 3.
If you would prefer to participate in the 2-day Resources for Resilience Trainings, please register for one of the dates available. There are a maximum of 40 spots available for each training. You must attend both days in order to receive a certificate of completion. All trainings are from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
