March 25 RISING STAR UPDATE

Due to the amazing turnout for recent races in the Rising Star class, we have expanded it to the 3D format for the Wild Wednesday Series and the 2024 KS01 points races.

Wild Wednesday Series will have 2 second splits and a buckle to all three division champions!
At KS01 points races, Rising Stars will be paid off (and points kept) in a 3D format with splits determined at the conclusion of the race. Those splits will be a minimum of 2 seconds, but could be 3 or 4 seconds depending on exactly how the times fall on a certain day. The intent is to find the natural splits in the list of times and be sure that we don't have a 2D with only 1 or 2 riders in it while the 1D and 3D have 7 or more in each D. ** Rising Star contestants & family members, please reach out to me this week if you think this plan will be unfair. My goal is to make it fair for everyone so barrel racing is fun and each contestant has an opportunity to compete, improve, and enjoy being part of our family.

We will continue to pay ALL qualified runs in the Rising Star class. Any run with a knocked over barrel will be moved to the bottom of the 3D by adding a 9 in front of it (like we do for down barrels in the open & youth) for payout and points purposes.
