Voting is open from Nov. 27 to Dec. 7 for the 2025 KS01 Sportsmanship, Most Improved, and Horse of the Year Awards. All KS01 members are invited to vote for these awards. Members and horses on the ballot were nominated by the KS01 family during the week prior to Thanksgiving, and the winners will be recognized during our 2025 Awards Presentation to be scheduled sometime early in 2026.

KS01 is proud to be part of the Kansas NBHA organization and support the Kansas NBHA State Championships, held each September in Topeka, KS.

In 2025, KS01 held 16 district points races and will present year end awards in the following classes:

Open 5D
Youth 3D
Senior 3D
Rising Stars
Pee Wee - Unassisted
Pee Wee - Assisted
Futurity 3D (horse 5 years or younger, cannot have competed prior to Nov. 15, 2024)
Derby 3D (horse 8 years or younger and NOT eligible for the futurity class)
Senior Horse 3D (horse 17 years or older)

KS01's 2024 year end awards totaled more than $14,000 in cash and prizes! Despite challenges with the weather in January, February, and August, and the EHV outbreak that shut down equine events in November 2025, we expect to recognize our members with awards valued at more than $10,000 for the 2025 season.

We hope that the 2026 season will be just as fun and lucrative as our membership continues to grow.
Our 2026 events are scheduled to begin in January and it should be another great year to barrel race with KS01!

We also produce multiple buckle and added money series events throughout the year, with these events open to members and non-members.
Most races are approved by the Better Barrel Races (BBR), offering our members the opportunity to qualify for the BBR World Finals each April in Oklahoma City, and also earn points toward BBR year end awards.

KS01 members placed in several divisions of the BBR Northern and Missouri Regions in 2023 and 2024, and it looks likely that the tradition will continue in 2025.
