Greetings.
I'm Japanese paper model designer.
My initial revelation with paper crafts was Canon Creative Park, introduced to me by my father. As I make a few works, I became interested in paper crafts and discovered various works and artists through the Paper Craft Data Base (by Tama Software). Unfortunately, some of these works are no longer available.
I didn't satisfied with Japanese works, and I also researched abroad. I was exposed to English much more than I used it in school. Additionally, I researched other languages such as German and Russian, even without the help of AI. Looking back this, I think it was my greatest international exchange. I’m writing this site in English. This is because I want share my works with many people having curiosity like me.
As I advanced in school, I took a break from creating. During my time in University, while learning computer programming, I started using 3D software and began designing my own works. I like deformed artworks and I create 3D one. In my country, there are deformed plastic models, but there are very few models I like. My first work was an American destroyer. Japanese people who like deformed art weren’t pleased, and Americans probably don’t like deformed art that much . However, this decided the my direction.
Most of my works are military but I'm not a war enthusiast. I create my works deformed with hope that Weapons become nothing more than toys some day.
Creating works with paper can be challenging, but there is great joy in creating.
If you made something (of course original ones are welcome), please share it in blog comments or X!
