How do I join?

To join the North Austin Youth Wind Ensemble, you will need to complete your audition and be invited to join! 

NAYWE auditions will be open from Monday, November 2nd, 2026  through Friday, November 13th, 2026. Audition results will be emailed out to auditionees on Friday, December 11th, 2026. Annual Membership fee: $100.

The audition material to join the North Austin Youth Wind Ensemble is:

1. Submit your Region’s Etude #1 with a metronome on and audible in your video. You may choose the tempo. Make sure we can see you in the video.

2. Your chromatic scale.

Two octave minimum

Can be played in a consistent rhythmic pattern of the performer’s choosing

Starting pitch is the performer’s preference (choose a starting pitch that will showcase your best sound

Submitting your Audition:

Recording criteria:

1. We must see you in the video, and you should introduce yourself at the start of the video.

Example: "Hello, my name is John Phillip Sousa, and this is my audition for the North Audition Youth Wind Ensemble!"

2. Performers will upload their audition video onto YouTube as “UNLISTED” or Google Drive and submit the link on the NAYWE Audition Submission Form. To avoid submitting multiple videos, performers can stitch multiple videos into one video for submission.
