Welcome to the website of the North American Workshop on Private Law Theory.
The North American Workshop on Private Law Theory (NAWPLT) is an annual, pre-read workshop that brings together legal scholars from across the United States, Canada, and Latin America for intensive discussion of works-in-progress in private law theory. The workshop provides an informal and relatively small venue where scholars can engage in sustained, serious dialogue about the philosophical foundations of private law—examining tort, contract, property, and unjust enrichment through analytical, normative, and philosophical lenses.
