Hi.  My name is Jim.

I had a blessed family life but the seeds of addiction began taking root at an early age.  I tried to fit in using drugs and alcohol as a means of finding acceptance after bullying and peer pressure.  After high school, I pursued a college degree in Industrial Engineering and after graduating went on to work in various technical fields.

Trying to hide my substance abuse problems and after a failed attempt at rehab, I eventually lost everything including money, relationships, and hope.  At the height of my addiction, my mom passed away and I was homeless for a brief period.

Reaching rock bottom after a near-fatal overdose, I sought help at a Christian men’s rehab ministry where I spent over a year in recovery.  Living at the ministry for 10 years, I gave back by counseling men and their families, became the assistant director, and taught many courses including inner healing classes.

Today, I continue to live a life of sobriety (one day at a time) and I'm now in the Marketing, Sales, and IT industry, continuing to counsel, write, and give back to the community where possible.
