Naveen Abedin

Applied Microeconomist

Welcome!

I am a second-year Ph.D. student in Economics, in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, at Virginia Tech.  My research focuses on food security, agricultural production, climate change, health and women's empowerment.

I received my B.S. in Economics and M.S. in Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas).  After graduation, I worked for several years as a Lecturer in Economics at North South University, Bangladesh. Before joining the graduate program at VT, I worked as a Research Analyst at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) on food security and agricultural issues.

Outside of research, I enjoy doing digital illustration.
