Pensacola-Class Cruisers were built for the United States Navy during the years of 1929 to 1930. Pensacola's were the first 'Treaty Cruiser' designed under the limitations of the Washington Naval Treaty. There were only 2 of this class built.

The Pensacola-Class Cruiser USS Salt Lake City was Opined by many high-ranking navy officials to be the No. 1 U.S. cruiser of the war. The Salt Lake City had probably been in more engagements than any other American warship. Jap claimed to have "sunk" her twice and left her burning once.
