Maine Class Battleships were built for the United States Navy during the years of 1899 to 1904, and they incorporated several significant technological advances over the earlier ships. The three Maine-class battleships were named—Maine, Missouri, and Ohio.

Maine Class Battleships in December 1907, and the other battleships in the Atlantic Fleet, steamed out of Hampton Roads, Virginia, to start the famous cruise of the Great White Fleet, though USS Maine turned back due to her excessive use of coal . After the United States entered World War I all three ships were used to train naval recruits for the expanding wartime fleet.
