Lexington-Class Battlecruiser is Premium Ship in our game. Construction began for the United States Navy during the years of 1920 to 1921. Of the 6 laid down for construction, none were finished as battlecruisers and only 2 of the 6 were converted into aircraft carriers.

Lexington-Class Battlecruisers were the only class of battlecruiser to ever be ordered by the United States Navy a reaction to the building by Japan of the Kongō class in 1911 . The order had the combined requirements of optimum hitting power, extreme speed and adequate protection. The fact they were not approved by Congress at the time of their initial request was due to political, not military considerations.
